I. Guiding Philosophy
From April 2-4, 2020 the 2020 Blended & Personalized Learning Conference will showcase the best classroom, school, and district implementers from across the nation at the RI Convention Center in Providence, RI.
Over the past eight years, the focus of the BPLC has evolved from centering on new technologies to prioritizing student-centered learning. In planning for BPLC20, our team reflected on lessons learned and has a bit more clarity (perhaps 20/20 clarity is overstating, but if the year fits!) on important components shaping our vision for classrooms.
For instructional sessions, we are looking for content and strategies that align to key instructional practices. For an overview of the practices we feel are important, please see our Priority Practices Tool. In general, we are looking for sessions that explore student leadership, culturally relevant instruction, methods for building strong classroom culture and relationships, choice, agency, reflection, goal setting, rigor, and productive struggle.
For change management sessions, we are looking for content and strategies that demonstrate a personalized approach to change, modeling instructional priorities at the systems level. In general, we are looking for sessions that explore innovative and personalized professional learning models, empowering teachers, personalizing curriculum, aligning personalization and policy, engaging students and families in the change process, offering teachers choice, continuous improvement, and measures that matter.
We are also interested in what you value. If your topic doesn’t appear above, we encourage you to make the case that it belongs in our program!
